Our life is a gift to be valued
As Adventists we believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything — the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us — is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
Our Health Ministry department provides information and resources on health-related matters and promotes a healthy lifestyle among church members. Through an ongoing programme of health fairs, we also have an outreach ministry to our community, in which they are encouraged to lead healthy and fulfilling lives while being conscious of God’s interest in the way they live.
God’s original diet plan
Seventh-day Adventists choose to be teetotal and abstain from all beverages and substances considered harmful to the body. While we advocate vegetarianism, it is not mandatory.
Members who eat meat and fish avoid foods prohibited by scripture. It is God’s desire that each of us may have an abundant life (John 10:10), and that means an abundance of physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. These areas of our lives are all interconnected and cannot be neglected if we want to experience whole person health.
